Gentlemen beware: there's nothing masculine about this sweet little shop. Opened in 2005, Parpar is girlie central, with a touch of shabby chic thrown in. Resembling a woman's dressing room in a French country house, it is filled with lingerie, chandeliers and repro antique furniture. Decor accessories include white-painted rosette baskets, as well as toile-printed, lavender-scented drawer liners ($25) and faux vintage dessert plates with a gold Parisian wallpaper print. Chandeliers range from a small beaded affair ($100) to a graceful showstopper in pick pearl and rosettes (up to $1,000). Stylish doormats - yes, there is such a thing - and runners ($25-$100) are stamped with graphic florals, prints or crests. But the belles of this ball are the vintage-style glass tissue box covers ($89), and the vanity table boxes in turquoise or dusty rose ($95). A kids' section boasts hand-painted toy boxes ($89-$219)
